Dr. Himayatullah Khan (1994)

He is the first Ph.D. Graduate of School of Economics, Quaid-i-Azam University. He started his professional carrier from Pakistan Agriculture Research Council in 1987 as research officer. After a short period he switched to teaching profession and joined University of Agriculture in the same year. Since then he is serving in University of Agriculture, Peshawar. Therefore he had a vast experience of over 30 years of teaching and research at university level. Dr. Himayatullah is a Professor of Economics. Currently he is serving as Director, Institute of Development Studies, KP Agricultural University, Peshawar.

Dr. Syed Nisar Hussain Hamdani (2004)

He is Ex Dean Faculty of Arts, University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (UAJK). At present he is Professor and Director, Kashmir Institute of Economics, UAJK. He also had charge of Chairman, Department of Islamic Economy & Banking at UAJK.  Dr. Hamdani is also member of various academic bodies including HEC National Curriculum Committee, HEC Committee on Multi-disciplinary Journals and board of Governors, AERC Karachi. He is Chairman of HEC National sub-committee on Economics. In 2006 he did fellowship with Harvard University. Later on in 2008 he did Postdoc from London School of Economics. He was awarded best teacher award by HEC in 2005 and by UAJK in 2009 and 2013.

Dr. Mohammad Ishfaq (2004)

He started his professional carrier from Quaid-i-Azam University in 2000 and served for about six years. In 2006 he joined Ministry Industries, production and Special initiatives. At present he is serving as Lead Economist for Government of United Arab Emirates, Dubai.

Dr. Shabib Haider Syed (2006)

He is a Professor and Chairman, Department of Economics at Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) Lahore. He joined the Faculty of Business Management and Economics at FCCU in August 2005. He holds Postdoc from Australia. Dr. Shabib had a vast experience of over 25 years in teaching and at various national and international institutions; He has served as Adjunct faculty member at Bond University-Australia, Quaid-i-Azam University, International Islamic University, Muhammad Ali Jinnah University and Institute of Cost and Management Accountants, Islamabad. He had 15 years’ experience as department leader which includes eight years as HOD at FCCU. He had supervised research (MPhil, PhD) in the areas of economic growth, finance, black economy, trade, energy, crime, terrorism, suicide, climate change, formal and informal institutions and environment. He is editor of Forman Journal of Economic Studies (A HEC – Y category Journal).

Dr. Muhammad Idrees (2006)

He started his professional academic career with Islamabad Model College for Boys in 1995. After serving for about five years in different colleges, he switched to University of Arid Agriculture, Rawalpindi as lecturer, where he served for about two years. In 2002 he joined Quaid-i-Azam university as lecturer. At present he is Tenured Associate Professor and Director, School of Economics, Quaid-i-Azam University. After assuming the charge of Director, he along with his team, took radical measures including the launch of a research journal titled “Pakistan Economic Review”, organizing first ever international conference of SOE, revision of all academic programs, updating web page of SOE and expanding the panel of local and foreign examiners for the evaluation of M.Phil. and Ph.D. thesis. His research interests include areas of poverty, income inequality, social sector and consumer behavior.

Dr. Nasir Mahmood (2006)

He was Assistant Professor at Department of Management Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University. He died in 2008. May Allah rest his soul in peace.

Dr. Attiya Yasmin Javid (2008)

She started her professional career from Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Islamabad as Staff Economist in 1983. She was promoted to Research Economist in 1992 then Senior Research Economist in 2008. In 2010 she became Professor of Economics and currently she is Head of Economics and Finance Department at Pakistan institute of Development Economics. Dr. Attiya was awarded Best University Teacher Award of 2014 by HEC. Besides PIDE, she has taught at Quaid-e Azam University, Fatima Jinah Women University, NUST Business school, Baharia University, NUML and SZABIST.

Dr. Adiqa Kiani (2009)

She started her professional carrier in 1993 by joining Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST). Dr. Kiani was awarded the Best University Teacher Award for the year 2009 by the Higher Education Commission. She has also served as chairperson of the Economics Department for three years at FUUAST Islamabad. In 2013, Dr. Kiani successfully completed a Fulbright post-doc fellowship to the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kiani is currently working as an Associate Professor of Economics at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) in Islamabad.

Dr. Verda Salman (2010)

She had a professional experience of eight years as a teacher and researcher. At present she is working as Assistant Professor at National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). Her research interest includes Human Resource Development, Game Theory, Issues of Economic Growth, Labor Economics and Microeconomics.

Dr. Bushra Yasmin (2010)

She is Chairperson/Associate Professor of Economics and Faculty Advisor for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi. She has been serving at FJWU for the last 17 years. Recently, she accomplished her Post-Doctorate in International Economics from Harvard University, USA as Fulbright Scholar (2016-17). Most prominently, she delivered lectures on Women’s Education and Terrorism at Texas State University, USA sponsored by Outreach Lecturing Fund (OLF), Fulbright Scholar Program, USA in 2017. She also participated in US-Pakistan University Partnership Workshop at Denton, TX USA. She is an active researcher in the field of Economics and has widely published in the journal of National and International repute.

Dr. Badshah Nawab (2010)

He started professional carrier as a Lecturer from Gomal University but soon after that he shifted to college sector KPK as result of selection in the Public Service Commission by earning first position among the batch of 32 candidates appeared for various subjects in 1987. In 1991, he again was recommended by PSC as Assistant Professor of Economics. He served different colleges in the capacity of a teacher and active member in curricular and co-curricular activities. In March 2003, he got in-service promotion to Associate Professor and later on, to Professor of Economics in May 13, 2013. He worked in eight different duty places in colleges as a teacher, a Vice Principal/ a D.D.O and principal especially in Govt. Postgraduate Jahan Zeb College Swat, G.C and GSSC Peshawar. Dr. Badshah also served infour different universities and presently he is the Chairperson and Professor Department of Economics University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Bagh, since August 19, 2016 after taking premature retirement from college sector KPK as Professor of Economics.

Dr. Lubna Shahnaz Umer (2011)

She is a Labour Economist with Ph.D in Labour Economics from Quaid-i- Azam University. She has extensive experience of working at the policy level with different government organizations, including the Planning Commission of Pakistan and Ministry of Labour. She has also been engaged with the International Labour Organization in undertaking diagnostic work and leading capacity building initiatives in the areas of labor policy, labor market assessments and labour force statistics and strengthening research and policy planning capabilities of provincial labour departments. Dr. Umer as visiting faculty has taught courses in NUST and is an external examiner at various universities.

Dr. Sabhat Subhan (2011)

She started her professional career as Statistical Officer from Pakistan Bureau of Statistics in 1999. Later on switched to Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi as lecturer and served there for about four years. In 2006, she joined National University of Modern Languages as lecturer. Currently she is serving as Assistant Professor, Economics.

Dr. Shahid Mansoor Hashmi (2011)

He Senior Joint Director, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). Presently working at National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF), a subsidiary of SBP and a premier training institute of international repute for central banking, commercial banking, microfinance, rural finance, Islamic banking etc.  At NIBAF in addition to different training related assignments, I am also contributing for National Financial Literacy Project for Youth (NFLP-Y) that aims to provide financial literacy to 1.6 million children, adolescent and youth across the country in collaboration with Universities of Pakistan in next 5 years. He is also contributing as member Board of Studies of different universities and Advisory & Editorial Board Member of different Journals. Further, also taught different courses in different universities and supervised theses relating to Banking & Finance area.

Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Ali Bhatti (2011)

He has a well-rounded experience of teaching, administration and research. Presently, he is teaching at FC College, Lahore. He had also taught for almost 10 years as a visiting faculty member at Quaid-i-Azam University. Moreover, he served as Principal, Government Gordon College; HoD, Department of Economics, GC Asghar Mall; and Advisor/ Departmental representative to the PPSC for the Education Department, Government of the Punjab. Dr. Bhatti aims to contribute in teaching and research in the areas of Financial, Quantitative and Islamic Economics.

Dr. Rumana Shah (2012)

Rummana Shah is an Associate Professor of Economics at IMCG (Post Graduate) F-7/2. She received her Ph.D. from the School of Economics, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. Her work is a pioneering study in Economics of Education in Pakistan. She obtained First Position in MSc. Economics (1985-86) from the same school. She started her career as a Research Officer at AEPAM, Islamabad. As part of the BRIDGES team, visited schools in all four provinces of Pakistan. She has been taking Masters classes at IMCG F-7/2 for almost three decades. Her field of expertise is Statistics, Econometrics, Economic Planning and Economics of Education.

Dr. Faisal Jamil (2012)

He is a faculty member at the School of Social Sciences & Humanities, NUST, teaching mainly public economics and environmental economics. Formerly, he served as an Energy Specialist at the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms. He has published in reputed international journals. His research interests include policy analysis, energy and governance issues in Pakistan.

Dr. Tahir Mukhtar (2012)

He started his professional career from Government Postgraduate College Asghar Mall, Rawalpindi in 1999 as Lecturer in Economics. In 2006 he joined Department of Economics, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi as Assistant Professor. Later on in 2014 he was promoted to the position of Associated Professor. Currently he is doing Postdoc from Australian National University, Canberra. Dr. Tahir Mukhtar also served as chairperson of the Economics Department, Fatima Jinnah Women University.

Farzana Naheed Khan (2013)

She started her professional career from Government College in 2000 and after a short period she joined Department of Economics, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. Since then she is serving at QAU, therefore she had a vast experience of about 18 years. At present she is Assistant Professor. Her research interests include monetary economics and international Economics.

Dr. Amtul Hafeez (2013)

She started her professional career as Resource Person from Allama Iqbal Open University in 2004. Later on in 2005 she joined University of Wah and served there for two years. In 2007, she switched to National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad as Lecturer. Currently she is serving as Assistant Professor.

Dr. Abdul Sattar (2014)

Currently, he is working with Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nation (FAO) in it HQ Rome Italy, as food security analyst for SDG indicators related to food security. He also worked in similar positions with FAO and WFP for Pakistan, African region and Asia and Pacific region. Prior to this, he worked around twelve years in GoP including finance, planning and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. Besides, he have worked in number of research studies for national and international organizations and conducted professional trainings in PBS. The expertise areas are household survey implementation, design and analysis, survey methods, sampling techniques and research methodologies.

Dr. Nazia Bibi (2017)

She is another promising Ph.D. Graduate of SOE. Currently she is serving as Lecturer in Pakistan Institute of Development Economics.

Amanat Ali (2018)

He is Assistant Professor at School of Economics, Quaid-i-Azam University. Dr. Amanat joined School of Economics in 2004. His research interests include monetary Economics and international Economics. He is also incharge student affairs of SOE. He also served as provost and Chairman Transport Committee of QAU.

Umaima Arif (2018)

She received her education from International Islamic University, Islamabad (MSc Economics) and Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad (M.Phil Economics & PhD Economics). She was awarded the degree of MSc Economics with distinction certificate and the degree of M.Phil Economics with President gold medal and Chancellor Medal. She joined Quaid-i-Azam University as lecturer in 2012 and currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at School of Economics Quaid-i-Azam University. Prior to joining Quaid-i-Azam University she has served Pakistan Institute of Development Economics as researcher (2006-2012) and was also selected as lecturer by Federal Public Service Commission of Pakistan (2007). Her research work has been published in the shape of national and international journal articles, research reports and monograph.
