The Department of Economics, QAU was the first department of the Faculty of Social Sciences, established in 1967. Initially, it started its M.Sc. degree program and later on introduced M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs. After more than four decades of service and nation building, the Department of Economics, Quaid-i-Azam University has grown to School of Economics. It proudly introduced first time admissions in BS-Economics Undergraduate 4-Years program in the fall Semester 2010.

School of Economics, QAU is one of the schools in the country, renowned for providing high-quality teaching and research across all areas of the economics. The strength of the school lies in core economic theory, quantitative techniques for applied research and mathematical economics. Our BS-Economics covers the whole area of economic issues and enables to build a particularly strong quantitative background, which is becoming more and more important for a successful career and seeking employment in the field of finance, NGOs, government, research and academia.
